Privacy and your Micro Kitchen enquiry

How we handle enquiries, protect information and explain your choices.

What we collect and why

Micro Kitchen Inc. collects your name, email address and type of enquiry so we can respond, discuss the proposed program and arrange next steps you request. A preferred name is fine. Your suburb and message are optional. Enquiring does not secure a program place or subscribe you to a newsletter.

Please do not include health information, government identifiers, bank details, identity documents or other people’s personal information. Referrers should use their own details and describe the enquiry generally. The form does not accept attachments.

How enquiries are handled

The form sends your information to website@microkitchen.org.au. It does not create a separate enquiry database or automatically email a copy to you. Your email address is the reply address. Initially, only the person managing Micro Kitchen has organisational access to this mailbox.

We do not routinely share identifiable enquiries with councils, employment services, training providers or funders. We will discuss a referral or other information-sharing arrangement with you first, unless disclosure is required by law. Funding reports should use information that does not identify individual enquirers.

Hosting, email and overseas processing

Hostinger supplies our website hosting and email services and processes information to deliver and protect these services. Our configured website server is in Singapore and website backups are in Mumbai, India. Email, technical logs and service backups may be processed by Hostinger and its service providers in other locations. We have not established a single processing location or an exact deletion period for all provider-managed records. See Hostinger’s privacy policy for its practices.

Retention and deletion

We delete inactive general enquiries from our working mailbox 12 months after the last contact. You can request earlier deletion. Records needed for a continuing matter or a legal obligation may be kept longer; we will explain this where relevant. Deleting working records does not immediately remove provider-managed backups or technical logs, which follow the provider’s retention processes. Participant records will have separate arrangements explained at enrolment.

Necessary cookies and abuse prevention

The enquiry page uses a necessary session cookie to protect submissions and reduce repeated sends. It is not an advertising cookie. The browser cookie normally ends with the session, subject to browser session-restoration settings. Hostinger manages server-side session storage and its cleanup; the configured expiry threshold is not a guaranteed deletion deadline.

Abuse controls temporarily store a keyed representation of your network address and submission counts, without your message or raw network address in that rate-control file. Counts expire after one hour. A daily cleanup removes expired entries, giving a scheduled residual retention of up to 25 hours when the task runs normally. Hosting and email services may separately record technical information, including network addresses and delivery logs.

Analytics and marketing

Google Analytics, advertising pixels and remarketing are not enabled. We serve our fonts, images and scripts locally and do not use third-party embeds. Hostinger may process technical service logs as described above. If we introduce optional analytics, we will update this notice and provide a choice before loading it. An enquiry is not consent to unrelated marketing.

Consent when joining the program

At enrolment, participants will receive a separate notice and consent choices explaining what information may be shared, with whom and for what program-delivery purpose, such as arranging agreed mentoring or training. Where sharing relies on consent, we will ask before sharing and limit information to what is needed. An initial enquiry does not give blanket permission to share participant information. We will explain how to withdraw consent for future sharing and any effect on support.

Access, correction and concerns

Contact website@microkitchen.org.au to ask what enquiry information we hold, correct it, request deletion, stop follow-up or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information; please do not send identity documents with your initial request. We will review concerns and respond directly. External websites and email services have their own privacy practices.
